Working with and Providing Treatment for LGBTQ Individuals
. The information presented in this training can help Providers and Court Counselors understand the unique issues and challenges related to LGBTQ individuals in any setting, whether private practice, state agencies, legal support, or substance use disorder settings. Information will also highlight high rates of drug and alcohol use in a significantly stigmatized culture, increased risk of LGBTQ individuals for substance use disorders, as well suicidal ideation. The training will also reference relevant research and current guidelines, and useful resources to help those in the helping profession assess and meet clients multifaceted needs for support and treatment.
