When Artists Are Birds: A Generative Workshop with Artist Shiela Hale and Poet Pamela Hart
Sunday, May 15, 1 - 4PM $60 Non-Member / $50 Members
Birds have served as a source of inspiration for makers since ancient times. Their drive to gather, assemble and create resembles the artists impulses of selection, accumulation and making. The Katonah Museum of Arts exhibition, The Nest, an exhibition of art in nature will be the springboard for this workshop.
Writers and artists are invited to spend an afternoon working with exhibition artist Shiela Hale and the Museums writer in residence Pamela Hart. Participants will look at the artworks, explore visual and written note-taking strategies, and consider other ways of accumulation and selection as we generate new work. Well begin in the Museum galleries and then travel to Hales nearby Katonah studio.
