Come join us for a Luau to commemorate our Hawaiian heritage within the Japanese American community. The event, presented by the Japanese American Historical Society of San Diego, will feature:

DELICIOUS "Hawaiian" food
DELIGHTFUL entertainment - TAIKO, HULA AND UKULELE CONCERTS
Silent auction with FABULOUS prizes
FUN Activities for the "little Keiki"

JAHSSD was formed more than 20 years ago to collect and share information and objects reflecting the stories and life experiences of Japanese Americans in the San Diego community. We have produced films, written books, created museum exhibits regularly on display at local museums, and appeared at libraries and schools to share our stories including those experienced in internment camps during World War II.

At our July luau, we will be raising funds to support our operations and outreach, but will also be celebrating and acknowledging local Japanese Americans whose families' roots ran through Hawaii on their way from Japan to the United States.
