Wordplay: An Evening of Ingenious Improv Benefiting Literacy Works
Off the top of our heads, we can't think of a better way to support adult literacy!
The auction will be awesome, the food fabulous, the drinks delectable, the galleries gorgeous, and the improv ingenious. All for a cause that is crucial.
Join us in the vibrant surroundings of the Evanston Art Center for an unforgettable evening featuring a performance by some of the finest improvisers out of Chicago's famed iO Theater. The cast of Whirled News Tonight will put a special spin on their show's beloved format just for us!
We are pleased to honor Stacy Ratner with the Literacy Works 2016 Inspiration Award. Stacy is the founder of Open Books, co-founder of the Chicago Literacy Alliance, was named a 2015 Chicagoan of the Year by Chicago Magazine, and is an all-around champion for literacy.
Our always-eclectic auction will feature something for everyone - art lovers, foodies, sports fans and, of course, readers!
Wordplay will support the vital programs of Literacy Works, a nonprofit organization that improves the quality and capacity of education, workforce, and other services for adults with low literacy. Our vision is that one day, all people will realize their full potential through the ability to read, write, and interpret the world.
