Change of Step's Halifax Ceilidh
Change of Step invites you to join us for an unforgettable night of Scottish music and dance on June 11th at St. Matthew's United Church in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The show will feature top local Scottish/Gaelic performers from across Nova Scotia and will celebrate highland dancing at its finest. Change of Step will be accompanied by the professional bagpipe music of Halifax's own Alex Gandy, and Cape Breton Scottish fiddle music by the world renowned Beaton sisters band: fiddle with Dawn and Margie Beaton, piping by Kenneth MacKenzie and piano by Mac Morin.
Change of Step breathes new life into traditional highland dancing by performing original choreography rooted in Scottish tradition yet shaped by modern influences. By showcasing the musicality, grace, and athleticism of highland dancing, we aim to inspire the next generation of highland dancers to develop a passion for Scottish music, dance and culture.
