DANCING ON WATER
Friday Night, August 10, 2012, We Leave the Shores of the Hudson River, 7:30 PM 12 Midnight.
In 2012 Black Women's Blueprint Declared Another International Year of People of African Descent. This August 10, 2012 we leave the shores of the Hudson River and head for the delta where the waters kiss the Atlantic Ocean, and reclaim ourselves.
Unveiling 3 Mobile Murals, A gift from three diverse communities of African descendants to each other. The first from the African-immigrant communities, the second from the African-American communities, and the third from the Afro-Caribbean communities. These murals come together to form one complete piece to be exhibited year round at strategic indoor and outdoor public locations throughout the Black Diaspora, sparking dialogue as people interpret the gifts and messages, rewrite a narrative of civic and cultural collaboration in celebration of ourselves, past, present and future.
