Roots Rockin Reggae Nite w/ Dub City Renegades, The Pocket, Sub-Radio, FeelFree (acoustic), and DJ AAROCK!
Washington DC based Reggae Rockers, Dub City Renegades, are a high energy yet spliffed out band that brings the positive vibes and gets the crowd moving! DCR is an 8 piece band lead by our front man, Akshan, a soulful horn section, and a tight rhythm section. Dub City brings the seemlessly blended sounds of Reggae, Dancehall, Roots, Rock, Jazz and more all to create a unique sound we call, Island Rock. Dub City Renegades full length album was released in 2014, also call....ISLAND ROCK!
The Pocket is a Washington, DC-based alternative-rock-reggae band with an authentic island sound. Vocalist Omar Teitelbaum, Jamaican-born guitarist Terrence Brown, and keyboardist Matt Wood intuitively fuse alternative rock, jazz, blues, and jams with off-beat skanks that are Jamaica-tested and crowd approved guaranteed to move an audience to its feet. The Pocket's acclaimed "Out of Many, One" album, mixed by Errol Brown (Bob Marley's main engineer), has seen international success. The three singles "Oceanside (Rooftop in Kingston)", "Steady" and "Lila Rose" quickly gained recognition and respect in Jamaica on both Irie FM and Zip in addition to college radio stations across the US.
Reaching as high as the The Top 3 on ReverbNation's Best DC Rock Bands - Washington, DC's Sub-Radio makes smart, danceable pop rock that's always expanding its boundaries, with elements of funk, folk, and EDM present on their 2016 release Same Train // Different Station. Layered guitars swirl over an irresistible rhythm section that has made SR's live shows well-known and has garnered comparisons to established pop-rock acts like Maroon 5. The sextet's high-energy live performances and variety of outstanding vocalists have put them on the map at festivals up and down the East Coast.
