Chef in the Garden 2012
Renowned Chef Tom Douglas, recently named the top restaurateur in the U.S. by the prestigious James Beard Foundation, is again bringing his genius for magical menus to the P-Patch Trust's annual Chef in the Garden event. The al fresco dinner and silent auction will be held on Wednesday, July 18th.
Tom's menu this year features wood-oven-roasted young goat with tomatoes, rosemary, cinnamon, toasted couscous, and harissa aioli. The vegetarian entrée will be braised cannellini beans, artichokes, fennel, chard and roasted cauliflower. The evening will begin with passed appetizers, including burrata and olive bread with sea salt and olive oil; garlic-stuffed olive kebobs; and crab-and-greens bruschetta. The first seated course will be spinach soup with zucchini relish, followed by a salad of salted tuna and Padron peppers. Baked peaches with Amaretti cookies and vanilla zabaglione will complete the meal. Fine Northwest wines will be served with each course.
The P-Patch Trust is a nonprofit organization that builds healthy and diverse communities by fostering community gardens, urban farms and green space.
