Gingerfest III
Friday May 13th, 6pm - 10pm (8:30pm last admission).
Come celebrate redheads and red fun at the Old Idaho Penitentiary on Friday the 13th! Show off your red hair or just celebrate ginger fun with friends. Enjoy family friendly games like "Bowling for Inmates", "Cherry Pit Spit", "Big Red Races", and more. Random participation prizes will be given out all night and there will be special "Best Ginger" contests for adults and kids (SEE RULES BELOW).
Food trucks, red (and non-red) beverages, beer, and wine will all be available for purchase. Tickets $6 adults, $3 kids (ages 3-12). Early bird family discount available until Monday, May 9th two adults & two children for $15!
Ginger Contest Rules & Regulations
1. ) All "gingers" can enter their name into a random drawing to be a contestant in one of our categories (Lil Ginger, Middle Ginger, Adult Ginger). You can only enter the day of the Gingerfest event May 13, 2016.
2. ) Lil' Gingers (ages 0-12) can enter the drawing to participate from 6-7:00pm, Middle Gingers (ages 13-20) will have until 7:30pm to enter their name, and Adult Gingers (ages 21+) will have until 8pm to enter.
3. ) All contestants in each category will randomly be selected by drawing. (10 males and 10 females in each category)
4. ) A panel of judges will narrow the field to three finalists in each category, and gender, by using three criteria based only on GINGER HAIR: Style, Fullness/Body, Depth of Color. Each criteria is judged from 1-5 with 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest. Judges decisions are final.
5. ) One final winner in each category, and by gender, will be selected from the three finalists by popular vote/crowd participation.
SPECIAL MESSAGE, PLEASE READ: Please remember this is for fun, no one is getting paid, or paid off, to win. This is a subjective, silly contest that has no bearing on human goodness, talent, or your or your child's worth in this world. Family members and friends of judges are not eligible to win. Your ginger is still an amazing human being even if they are not selected to be a participant, a finalist, or winner. If you fear you may be upset if you are not guaranteed a victory, maybe just play some games, enjoy a great historic site, and sit this one out.
