River Whyless
Hailing from Asheville, NC River Whyless puts a hauntingly sweet spin on traditional foundations. Their newest EP, the band's first release since their 2012 debut, marks a notable evolution in their collective voice. The EP is full of lush harmonies, wide sweeping arrangements that are driven by dark percussion, putting them in a category similar to contemporaries Fleet Foxes and Stornaway.
Christian Perritt Trio
Christian Perritt offers a unique mix of idiocy and quirkiness that can only be found in the cathouses of Budapest or the open sewers of southern Connecticut. Largely influenced by such great songwriters as Jeremy Irons and Pol Pot, Christian puts on a show that dazzles the eye and offends the ear. Fortunately, Christian will be joined by vastly superior musicians, Bruce Johnson on mandolin and Chris Harman on standup bass. Sudden movements during the performance are discouraged, as they will only startle and confuse Christian (or "Itchy", as he's known in most parole offices).
