Appetite for Justice
NOTE: although this event is sold out, we expect there to be extra tickets closer to the event, please post on Facebook if you would like to be on the waiting list (or email the organizers). We will try to get everyone in!
Join the newly founded Washington Chapter of Food Empowerment Project for an afternoon of amazing free vegan food and a talk by Food Empowerment Project founder, lauren Ornelas. This is an incredible opportunity to learn how you can work for a more just and sustainable world by recognizing the power of one's food choices. This talk is for anyone who buys food, eats food or is passionate about food justice issues--from unfair working conditions for produce workers, to the unavailability of healthy foods in communities of color and low-income areas, to abuse of animals on farms, to the depletion of natural resources, and beyond. Come hungry because Chef Ariella of Healthy Creations will be donating her time and energy to bring us delightful vegan appetizers! Come make the connections between many forms of injustice, and learn what you can do about it. For more information on Food Empowerment Project, visit www.foodispower.com and to follow the Washington Chapter, go to www.facebook.com/FoodEmpowermentProjectWA.
