The molting of emotional veneers is a common theme in this evenings work(s). Glitz, glamour, the 80s. 2016s reference of the 80s. Better Homes and Gardens... (wedding pictures?)... a conversation. An evening of dances performed by Nic Lincoln and Penelope Freeh. I am endlessly fascinated in creating excellent, relevant, and vulnerable work by extracting concepts that already exist within culture and re-contextualizing them to have a new meaning. I am deeply inspired by visual art and architecture, therefor within my process of creation I find ways to subtly highlight the unique qualities that the theater may posses. Therefor, this work will be created specifically for the Bryant Lake Bowl Theater. Much like pop art itself, my choreography tends to be saturated with color: vibrant images comprised of subtle wit and wrought with symbolism. Penny and I are excited to dance this evening of work for you. [16 Candles ?] We cant wait. -Nic Lincoln
