Rona Leventhal is a Massachusetts-based Storyteller and Educator. With her bag full of multi-cultural and personal stories and her dynamic style, she leaves audiences with a smile on their faces, laughter in their bellies and plenty of fodder to ponder. From the stage of the National Storytelling Network conference to New England festivals, as well as schools and libraries worldwide, Rona has been sharing her passion about the power of the spoken story for twenty-five years.......includes producing and facilitating her Summer Storytelling Institute and teaching graduate courses for teachers.
She is coeditor an award winning book, Spinning Tales, Weaving Hope. Her CD, "Raps, Rhythms and Rhymes: Stories that Tap, Rap, Shake and Sing!" will be out later this year. Rona is a Teller of tales, a Educator and by all accounts a Mensch!
Margaret Meyers has been a writer and spoken-word artist for more than thirty years. She was the creator and curator of a poetry program on High Plains Public Radio in Kansas, and has performed with the Kansas City Storytelling Celebration for ten years. In recent years she has taken part in storytelling performances of such epics as the Odyssey, the Kalevala, Shanameh, Tain, Popul Vuh, and other great long form tale in California and Vancouver, BC.
A former professor of philosophy of science and mathematics, she loves the enduring questions: What do we know? How do we know it? What difference does it make in our lives today? For Margaret, story is another way of understanding.
Two Chairs Telling has been produced and hosted by Loren Niemi since 1992 first at the Jungle Theater and at the Bryant Lake Bowl Cabaret Theater since 2012. TCT is presented on the 2nd Tuesday of the month from September June and is sponsored in part by Cheap Theater (a monthly storytelling series at the Black Forest Festaal Room) and is coproduced this year by performance artist / storyteller Howard Lieberman.
