LiebesFusion is SongFusions first endeavor to take a philanthropic approach to collaboration. Weve invited some of operas brightest rising stars to join Kathy Kelly in our May 26 concert. This concert will not only delight our audience and further the mission of SongFusion: it will also help raise funds for the Opportunity Music Project, an organization that provides free music lessons to NYC-based underprivileged students. We collectively chose to support this charity as a way to honor the huge web of people who supported us throughout our early music training. Musicians of all kinds can point to the music program, organization, or after-school activity that led us to the great love affair with our profession. Our passions were forged in this early training; any child who seeks this experience should have the same opportunity. As SongFusion prepares for our official fifth season, we are also building the foundation to move forward as a stronger, more exciting series. Our program on May 26th will include music that each artist connects with on a personal level; our own "folk music", if you will, all surrounded by selections from Brahms'great cycle of love and community, Die Liebeslieder Wältzer.
