Western Massachusetts native Mikey Sweet plays Tuesdays this month in anticipation of his newest CD release on the 26th.  Different guests join in all month for a celebration of the song and it's interpreters!

Mikey Sweet grew up in the in the foot hills of Western Massachusetts. His Father was a musician who played Dylan tunes in local bars. His Mother raised him, herself. At fifteen, Michael quit school and hit the road. He became all too familiar with the ways of the rambler. He picked up a guitar and taught himself how to pick. He learned to sing on sidewalks, subways, and interstate on-ramps. Michael is a songwriter. He came to the conclusion early on that, life is just a collection of stories, and we might as well make them our own. As a  songwriter he has been described as a haunting fingerprint of the young, lost traveler of the American landscape; hanging on with his life, to a string of hope that lies just one more mile marker away. His major influences have been singers and writers such as Towns Van Zandt, Bob Dylan, and Amos Lee to name a few. Michael currently resides back in Western Massachusetts writing, performing and recording his music.

QUESTIONABLE COMPANY
Born in a dimly lit basement in the Old North End, forged in the eclectic crucible of the thriving Burlington Vermont arts scene, three friends combined their experienced and nuanced styles to entertain friends and satisfy their own artistic aspirations. Raised on Funk, Rock, Jazz, Blues, Soul and Folk, Questionable Company is at once classic and invigorating. The three members, form a small band with a curiously large sound; a folk-funk trio with a gritty, honest and soulful feel.

AMY FAIRCHILD
Singer songwriter Amy Fairchild is no stranger to The Lizard or to the entire Northeast.  She has been at her craft for quite some time and it shows both in her excellent songwriting and her live performances.

"A masterstroke of hooky melodies and razor-sharp lyrics that address the never-easy battlefield of the heart."
Steve Morse, former music critic for The Boston Globe

"If this stone-cold roots-pop beauty doesnt catch on, its everybodys elses fault,
not hers."
Mike Greenblatt, Goldmine

"She is unique in vocal timbre, expression, and in her songwriting structure. It's hard to find words for how good Fairchild does her thing."
