The 2-Day Restorative Circle Facilitator Development Immersion provides the curricular foundation for Restorative Circles Facilitators. This 2-day is open to anyone interested in deepening their practice or exploring the use of Restorative Circles to support their community's connections and Restorative Culture.
A range of Restorative Circle topics will be presented with lots of time for practice, including:
*Listening from the Heart (empathy & reflective listening for facts-feelings-values/needs)
*Pre-Circles : Essential Elements and Practice; Deepening: Who needs to be present? What support do you need? What is "Consent?" "Readiness?" Substitution? Preparation/time/openness to particular needs; Facilitator Pre-Circles.
*Restorative Circle: Essential Phases, Questions and Flow & Practice; Deepening: Substitution; Translation; Action Plans; Co-Facilitation
*Post-Circle : Essential Elements and Practice
*Justice issues and Considerations of: Race & Social Justice; differentials of power; Victim/Survivor needs; Youth voice and empowerment; Inclusion of the Earth and the Seventh Generation; Transformational Opportunities & Structures
*Living the Practice: Mindfulness & Presence; Micro Circles; Nonviolence
*Building open, accessible and sustainable Restorative Justice Systems
The sessions will be facilitated by Susan Partnow, co-founder of Seattle Restorative Justice, long-time student with Dominic Barter, and senior mentor for Compassionate Listening. She will be assisted by Pam Orbach and Nina Triffleman.
