On the Road Tour - Beautiful Drought-Tolerant Landscapes
Beautiful Drought-Tolerant Landscapes The key to a beautiful waterwise garden is intelligent plant choice. Come along on a visit to three beautiful drought tolerant landscapes.
Our first stop is at the home of a first-time gardener who has been converting her urban landscape into a drought tolerant garden. It features two rain gardens and a variety of planting beds that will give you plenty of ideas to incorporate at home.
Next: McMenamins Kennedy School is surrounded by sustainable gardens and drought tolerant landscapes. Of course, we couldnt visit here without partaking of lunch in their restaurant.
Visit the home of the owner of Xera Nursery. He will explain the use of xeriscaping techniques throughout his garden and give us an overview of the challenges and solutions in xeriscaping.
We finish up at Xera Nursery, specializing in climate adapted plants for gardeners in the Pacific Northwest. Cost: $30 lunch: On your own at McMenanmins Kennedy School.
