Randy Napoleon's new record, Soon, is scheduled for release by the Detroit Music Factory on April 8, 2016.  The record features Randy's interpretations of some of his favorite standards, such as Be My Love, Body and Soul and More Than You Know, a bluesy rendition of CC Rider, as well as some unique surprises, such as Second Star to the Right (from the Disney cartoon Peter Pan), all arranged for jazz trio.  Masterfully accompanied by Rodney Whitaker (bass) and Gregory Hutchinson (drums), Randy's innovative arrangements showcase his profound appreciation for the Great American songbook and provide a true delight for his listening audience.

In addition to his solo work, Randy has toured and recorded with Freddy Cole since 2007, and has arranged most of Cole's last six albums, including the 2010 Grammy-nominated Freddy Cole Sings Mr. B.  Randy has also toured and recorded with Benny Green, the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra and Michael Buble, and has appeared with other jazz luminaries, including Bill Charlap and Houston Person. Randy's TV appearances, mainly as a sideman, include shows hosted by David Letterman, Jay Leno, Ellen DeGeneres, Jerry Lewis and Regis & Kelley as well as on Today and the PBS special Caught in the Act (with Michael Buble).

In addition to his performance work, Randy serves as Assistant Professor of Jazz Guitar at Michigan State University.  Randy formerly taught at the University of Michigan, and has hosted numerous jazz workshops at schools such as Bucknell University and Humber College in Toronto.
