In 2016:
August 27th, 8pm and 28th, 4pm Animal House A kid-friendly concert featuring music celebrating our furry and feathered friends. With special guest Robert Faires as narrator. Included are Carnival of the Animals, Sheep may safely graze, and the Catcerto with Nora the Piano Cat.
October 8th, 8pm and 9th, 4pm Election 2016 - La Follia Style with KMFA Your vote counts! In our election year spoof, we perform great music and, based on that, YOU elect the next President and Vice-President of early Classical Music. Will it be Bach? Or Mozart? Or a surprise like Pachelbel or the black Mozart Saint-Georges? Your favorite KMFA announcers host and analyze this momentous event!
In 2017:
January 7th, 8pm and 8th, 4pm Tell me a Story The string ensemble performs music from the Baroque era which tells a story. Featured are Telemanns Don Quixote, Bibers Battle Suite, and Vivaldis Winter.
March 4th, 8pm and 5th, 4pm A Chamber Concert with Anton Nel Chamber music on period instruments by Mozart, Haydn, and Beethoven. Featured is Beethovens piano quartet, Op. 16. Anton Nel on fortepiano, with Stephen Redfield, violin, Marcus McGuff, flute, Bruce Williams, viola, and Katie Rietman, cello.
April 1st, 8pm and 2nd, 4pm Fooled Ya! with KMFA and Suzanne Bona La Follia welcomes Suzanne Bona, creator and host of the nationally syndicated Sunday Baroque radio program to help us celebrate KMFAs 50th anniversary. In this April Fools special, we perform beautiful, often very famous, works, which are either completely misattributed or forgeries. We also perform fabulous music by mystery composers whose true identities will astonish you. Great fun with Suzanne personally engaging the audience
Venue for all concerts is First Presbyterian Church on Mesa Drive in Austin.
Season subscriptions are offered as "Will Call". This saves you the concern about printing or misplacing tickets.
If you are unable to attend a concert, you are always able to transfer your ticket to a friend. Just have them notify the ticket desk or email info@lafollia.org.
