Planning the Medicinal Herb Garden
If you have ever wondered how to grow medicinal plants in your own backyard then this is the class for you. Taking an ecological approach to our gardens, we can design conditions best suited to the plants for better success. Gradey will discuss herbs that you can easily grow at home, planting and care methods, and how to use them to stay in good health. He'll also mention a few common weeds that you might like to keep around for their medicinal uses too! After the class Gradey will be offering many of these medicinal plants for sale too.
Gradey Proctor is a botanist and gardener who has spent over 16 years studying the flora and fungi of Oregon's forests. Gradey studied herbalism at Columbines School of Botanical studies. His newest endeavor, the Medicine Garden, is an independent herbal nursery and plant medicine CSA. Gradey has taught botany at the Arctos School of Herbal and Botanical Studies for a decade now. Developing a relationship with place drives his passion for gardening and wildcrafting medicinal and edible plants -- and he loves supporting his community by teaching others to do the same.
