ARTS ENCOUNTER, THE SLEEPING BEAUTY I, ages 7-10
Ages 7-10
Monday to Thursday, from 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Your young dancers will explore a different story ballet each week culminating in a Thursday family performance.
The children will use classical ballet and folk dance to recreate the story ballets. Your dancers will design and construct costumes, props, and scenery to enhance their production.
At snack time, well explore that different culture and era while we try foods from around the world.
Sleeping Beauty I, Prologue (The Christening)
This is the scene of the Grand Celebration. All the fairies bestow a gift on the new princess; the gifts of musicality, generosity, vitality, grace, and wisdom. But someone has noticed that she was not invited...
To the beautiful, and sometimes scary, music of Tchaikovsky, our dancers will tell this tale letting you know that they have a plan to save the princess.
