About Kathy Wells:
Kathy Wells, mom of farmer Lauren Rudersdorf of Raleighs Hillside Farm, has been cooking seasonally from her garden and freezer since she moved to her farm in western Rock County from Milwaukee thirty-five years ago. It is not an overstatement to say she is obsessed with all aspects of food including gardening, food preparation, collecting recipes, cooking, canning and of course eating! Even though she grew up in Milwaukee, many of her mothers relatives were actively involved in farming which gave her a taste of farm life. After a few false starts, she ended up enrolled in the college of Ag at UW Madison and graduated with a degree in Meat Animal science. After meeting and marrying her husband, she moved to the farm and raising livestock was added to the operation. Kathy manages 125 acres of cropland, beef steers, and hogs with her husband.
About Raleigh's Hillside Farm:
Raleigh's Hillside Farm is a 3-acre, transitioning-to-organic CSA vegetable farm in southern Wisconsin. Lauren owns and operates Raleigh's Hillside Farm with her husband on land that has been in her family for 4 generations. These young farmers are in the fourth year of their operation and enthusiastic about about bringing people together around local food and building community.
CANCELLATION POLICY: NO REFUNDS. SOIL SISTERS has a no refund policy. You can, however, transfer your ticket to another person, provided that person is in possession of the ticket at the time of the workshop.
