Own The Stage. Habit vs Choice.
When we improvise the possibilities are endless. We can be anyone! So why do we find ourselves falling into similar grooves?
Perhaps you feel like you get overlooked onstage, or youre always the one taking charge. Maybe you even feel uncomfortable and want to own it more and feel good. The answer is in your embodiment.
The ONE constant thing in every improv scene you do is YOU and, like all humans, you have subtle physical patterns. Speed, intensity, rhythm, preferences... These habits are so familiar that theyre probably invisible to you but they colour everything. Affecting how you are perceived, both onstage and off, seeping through your characters like the tells of a poker player. To fully inhabit another character or have a more commanding presence just takes a little awareness, so well be getting back into our bodies (and a few others!) in a playful, non judgemental way. In this workshop you will:
- SUPERCHARGE your range by getting friendly with your tendencies, seeing when they work for and when they are getting in your way.
- EXPERIENCE subtle physical shifts that dramatically alter your authentic responses.
It is scientifically proven that the way we move directly affects the way we think, feel and speak so lets forget the who what where for today and respect the HOW!
