Jamie Kilstein LIVE at Tropicalia
Jamie Kilstein is a spoken word, political indie punk renegade. Hes been featured in Timeout Chicago, Sydney, New York and London as a Critics Pick. Hes played everywhere from the concert hall of the Sydney Opera House to the dive bar down the street where you probably used to live, and his first book #Newsfail was released from Simon and Schuster. Before the dream began to take shape, Jamie could be found living out of his car, having dropped out of high school and now has shared the stage with Bad Religion, and Talib Kweli, among others.
Jamie has put his rants and thoughts, his social commentary to songs and music in what can only be described as liberal punk waging war against homophobes, sexists, and bigots with music that makes you want to change the world. His musical style is not only revolutionary but his band is energetic with songs that mean something and have been gaining a lot of press and fans.
Compared to Henry Rollins, Jello Biafra Bill Hicks and Joe Strummer, Jamie has been seen on Conan, is a regular on MSNBC, as been featured on FX, Showtime, CNN and many shows around the world.
When not singing and performing, Jamie Kilstein co-hosts Citizen Radio, which has been praised by Janeane Garofalo, Noam Chomsky, Adam Savage and Robin Williams. He and his co-host were named by The Nation Magazine as top "media heroes". Most importantly: Glenn Beck has called him a "doofus" and "goofball".

Jamie Kilstein is amazing and I will be spreading the word. He has the spark that energized my conscience. We need more comedians kicking it hard the way he does every night - Robin Williams
Watching Jamie reminds me of why I got into comedy. It is like watching a combination of George Carlin and Bill Hicks Janeane Garofalo
Jamie Kilstein is at once irresistibly endearing and wonderfully audacious. Watching his work is like going to cuddle a puppy and having it hump your leg. But funnier. - Tim Minchin
"Jamie Kilstein mixes music and rants to produce politically charged songs that echo the likes of Joe Strummer and Bill Hicks" - The Skinny UK
