Lonely Mountain Lovers + Planes on Paper

Lonely Mountain Lovers formed over a mutual appreciation of the sound and feel of Seattle and the good company found in bars there. Conversations at bar stools at some point found a catalyst in the tunesmithing of Zachary Warnes and in early 2012 the band started playing around the Seattle area with a loud, dark, bright, and bottomofthebottle inspired amalgam of American styles. Featuring a deeply lyrical underbelly, crashing amps and cymbals, and haunting harmonies, the band at once hopes to inspire dancing as well as introspection, all mixed up with a tall boy and whiskey. With musical infatuations ranging from Patsy Cline to Ryan Adams, The Meters to Bill Callahan, and Beastie Boys to BB King, the sound of the sixpiece formed into a raucously soulful ode to the breadth of rock 'n' roll and country music, equal parts party and poetry.
There is a vocal synergy that exists between Navid Eliot and Jen Borst, the two core members of the Washington-based folk group Planes on Paper. They each have clear, unique voices, but when combined, a special kind of musical beauty emerges. During live performances, they often combine their own intricate harmonies and acoustic guitar with the abilities of some of their most musical friends, adding percussion, bass, and pedal steel to the fold.
Their latest EP, The Ruins, was released in January 2015 and received excellent reviews and a great deal of attention throughout the Pacific Northwest. Theyve been touring steadily behind the record, playing shows up and down the both the east and west coasts.
