Fifth Annual A-Town Jazz Festival
The town of Arlington will once again pulse with the sounds of jazz when the Fifth Annual A-Town Jazz Festival that kicks in on April 29th and culminates with the main event 5/1 at the Regent Theatre Underground. The Festival, hosted by Dan Fox and Morningside Music Studio, features popular jazz, blues, and gospel vocalist Louise Grasmere. The other headlining group will feature rising star trumpet player Jason Palmer.

Trumpeter/Composer/Educator Jason Palmer is becoming one of the most in demand musicians of his generation. He has performed with Roy Haynes, Herbie Hancock, Jimmy Smith (the organist), Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Kurt Rosenwinkel (first trumpeter to ever be hired by this highly acclaimed guitarist), Ravi Coltrane, Mark Turner, Jeff Ballard, Lee Konitz, Phil Woods, Common, Roy Hargrove, Lewis Nash, etc.
Festival host Dan Fox has this to say about this year's Festival: "I am happy that the community has gotten behind the festival this year and helped it to expand to 6 different venues and include musicians of all ages."
Dan Fox, no stranger to the music scene, is a Boston-based trombonist and bassist and Director of Morningside Music Studio. He has performed at the Newport Jazz Festival, Monterey Jazz Festival, Boston Globe Jazz Festival and recently was a featured soloist at the Mallorca Jazz Festival in Spain. He leads his own bands Made in the Shade and 'TarBone and has performed a wide range of jazz styles with groups like the New Black Eagle Jazz Band, the Cab Calloway Orchestra, and the Either/Orchestra.
