Solo Not Alone
This new solo work, created and performed by Aura Fischbeck, is based on the assumption that even the soloist is never actually alone. Beginning from the perspective of the body as a collective site of influences, this choreographic research began with an invitation to colleagues, mentors and artistic influences to each offer a choreographic prompt or directive which would become a part of the creation of Solo Not Alone.
As an embodied line of questioning Solo Not Alone considers the body as a processing center and relay station for information as it sifts through vocabulary, historical perspectives, and conscious and unconscious influences.
Solo Not Alone invites questions about the collective nature of the individual, made up of all it has seen, done, been, received, perceived, understood, misunderstood, and more.
