Be a Volunteer Habitat Hero & Plant a Demonstration Garden
Come get your hands dirty with us!
Audubon Rockies is partnering with West Greeley Conservation District and will be planting a Habitat Hero demonstration garden at one of their community gardens, Houston Gardens in Greeley, CO.
We need your help and are calling volunteer Habitat Heroes of all ages to plant this 1/2 acre site. Connect with other like-minded folks and enjoy a beautiful day outside planting and feel good about doing something positive for your community, wildlife and restore your joy in nature!
Habitat Hero gardens support wildlife, conserve water, and minimize or eliminate the use chemical fertilizers/pesticides. A special thanks to Jenny Burkhalter for designing this garden!
What Should I Bring? -Be prepared to spend the day outdoors in natural elements (wear closed-toed shoes, bring sun protection, dress in layers and have an extra bottle of water) -Food & beverages will be provided -Have a favorite pair of gardening gloves or trowel? Some supplies will be provided, but bring along your own too.
Parking Details -Event Parking for Houston Gardens is just West of the Gardens, off West 4th Street, the entrance to the Boys and Girls Club.
