Small Business Lunch at Halls
The King Street Marketing Group and Halls Chophouse are pleased to welcome Kitty Robinson, President and CEO of Historic Charleston Foundation (HCF), as our guest speaker Thursday, April 7th.
Ms. Robinson has been at the forefront of preservation on both the national and local levels for more than three decades, addressing key civic challenges and carrying out HCFs mission.
Established in 1947, Historic Charleston Foundation is dedicated to preserving and protecting the architectural, historical and cultural character of Charleston and its Lowcountry environs, and to educating the public about Charlestons history and the benefits that are derived from preservation.
"Preservation ensures that Charleston maintains a balance between its role as one of America's most important architectural resources and a real, living city with a great quality of life for its residents."
At this luncheon Ms. Robinson will introduce the beautiful new book "The Preservation of Charleston" written by local writers Harlan Greene and William Baldwin with photographs by N. Jane Iseley. The book is already the top seller at both HCF and Preservation Society Bookstores and copies will be available the luncheon for $75.00.
Kitty was Historic Charleston Foundations Festival Director from 1987 to 1993, during which time she increased visibility and funds for the Foundation. She was named the Director of Development at Porter-Gaud School in 1993 where she led advancement efforts until 2000 and continued her service at Historic Charleston as a Trustee and Vice-President before coming its Executive Director and President & CEO in 2000.
Currently serving in a leadership capacity on a number of civic boards and organizations, Ms. Robinson has served and/or continues to serve on the boards of: The Citadel School of Business, Charleston Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, Charleston Heritage Federation, Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie Trust, College of Charleston Graduate School, Charleston Leadership Foundation, Engaging Creative Minds and the Peninsula Advisory Commission.
