ROCK THE AGES! Seniors Rock & Roll
Come hear Rock the Ages, a dynamic chorus of seniors, belt out a sizzling session of classic rock 'n' roll hits.
Ranging in age from 80 to 102, these residents of The Redwoods retirement community have been rocking out at Bay Area venues since 2009. Under the direction of musician extraordinaire Barry Blum, Rock the Ages performed two sold-out gigs at the famed Sweetwater Music Hall last year. Their repertoire spans five decades of rock 'n' roll music and includes songs by James Brown, the Rolling Stones, Ramones, Eurythmics, Pussy Cat Dolls, Coldplay and others.
Also on the May 1 program, members of "les étoiles", an advanced level girl's choral group from Singers Marin, add youthful contrast with a series of folk and pop selections.
