The Miracle of Long Johns
AWARD-WINNING COMEDY, THE MIRACLE OF LONG JOHNS, PLAYS GREELEY!
David Lefkowitz, a longtime theater journalist and award-winning playwright, brings his solo comedy, THE MIRACLE OF LONG JOHNS, to the Farr Regional Library in Greeley, Colorado, for two special evenings: Wed. March 30 at 7pm and Fri. April 1 at 6pm.
Written and performed by David Lefkowitz, THE MIRACLE OF LONG JOHNS tells of his many years as a New York City theater critic including the most embarrassing, uncomfortable, humiliating night of his life!
The show was workshopped as part of Greeleys Writers Ink writers group and developed at Colorados Boulder Fringe Festival before reaching the 2015 United Solo Theater Festival in New York, where The Miracle of Long Johns won the award for Best Non-Fiction Script.
Before the play returns to New York City in April, Coloradoans can catch this hilarious hit for two nights: Wednesday, March 30 at 7pm and Friday, April 1 at 6pm, both at Farr Regional Library, 1939 61st Avenue (19th Street) in Greeley, CO.
The play runs 85 intermissionless minutes and contains some strong language (suggested for audiences 10+). Tickets are only $10 (adults), $8 (seniors), and $5 (students with valid ID). Tickets will be available at the door (cash only) or for pre-purchase at brownpapertickets.com.
Heres what critics and audiences have had to say about The Miracle of Long Johns:
Lefkowitz [;goes]; where very few performers go, other than the late, great George Carlin . . . the theater audience rollicks with laughter. Ed Rubin, New York Theater Wire
85 minutes of pure genius, laughter and great stories. . . The audience loved it and laughed during the whole performance. A great stage presence with a show-stopper quality made [;the]; full-of-energy evening unforgettable. David Serero, critic, CultureNews.com
The Miracle of Long Johns gave me fresh perspective on the life of a theater critic and renewed appreciation for long underwear! It also made me laugh till I cried! - S. Watkins, Boulder Fringe audience member

Initial productions of THE MIRACLE OF LONG JOHNS in Boulder and NYC were entirely crowd-funded via Indiegogo.com. Money remaining from that successful launch has gone to bringing the show back to Colorado and New York in 2016. A video and more information are viewable at: miracleoflongjohns.com.
A theater critic for nearly three decades, David Lefkowitz left New York in 2009 and currently teaches at the University of Northern Colorado where his eclectic radio program, Daves Gone By (davesgoneby.com), is enjoying its 14th season. Lefkowitzs play, Kandide, won the Lee Korf Playwriting Award and was produced in Los Angeles. He also co-wrote and directed the acclaimed comedy, Shalom, Dammit! An Evening with Rabbi Sol Solomon, which played two engagements at NYCs Richmond Shepard and Roy Arias Theaters, as well as in Colorado.
Following development at the Boulder Fringe Festival and an award-winning appearance in the United Solo Theater Festival, THE MIRACLE OF LONG JOHNS will return to New York City in April. Author Lefkowitz, a Greeley resident, is excited to start this mini-tour of his hilarious play in the city where he first wrote it.
Come see the latest play by an author critics have called courageous, funny and thoughtful and even profound. Because miracles DO happen.
