JAFFA ROAD
The group has created a unique sonic landscape that draws easily and organically from the worlds of sacred and secular Jewish songs, Arabic and Indian music, modern jazz, rock, and dub. Jaffa Road creates a union between acoustic and electronic, secular and sacred, ancient and modern. Members of Jaffa Road have performed and recorded with many highly regarded influential musicians in the Canadian and International pop, rock, jazz, and world music scenes.
Since the release of their JUNO nominated debut (Sunplace) the band has criss-crossed Canada with tours further a-field to California, Alaska, New York, and Brazil. They are equally at home giving concerts on festival stages, performing arts centres, jazz clubs, folk clubs and concerts halls. Their travels have taken them to some of the largest festivals in Canada (such as Vancouver Folk Music Festival) as well as to the most remote music festival in North America (The Rocking Walrus Festival in the high Arctic in Igloolik, Nunavut).
