Penni Layne and the Wonder Boys @ the Cabaret Cafe
Friday, June 3 at 7:30 pm, the CCA presents Penni Layne & the Wonder Boys in the Cabaret Café. PLWB is a soul/R&B/jazz ensemble that performs originals as well as covers by Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, and Melody Gardot to name a few. The band was formed by lead vocalist Penni Layne & bassist Larry Jackson who have played together all over New England and on tours with various bands, most notably with their main band, Boston Music Awards winner Eye2Eye. At the end of 2014 they left that band to focus their energy on songwriting, production, and performing as PLWB. Their band is made up of stellar musicians from around New England who they have played with for years including drummer Steve Bankuti, keyboardist/vocalist Damon Carter, guitarist Andres Echeverry, saxophonist Aaron Belyea, and trumpeter Garret Savluk.
