Bodega Bay Fishermen's Benefit with Levi Lloyd & Friends
The Russian River Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Vira The California Mermaid and the Sonoma County Regional Parks Foundation have combined forces to present Bodega Bay Fishermens Benefit, a seafood dinner with music by Levi Lloyd and Friends, and entertainment by the Russian River Sisters and surprise guests at the Guerneville Vets Hall on April 16, 2016. The Computer Recycling Center will be on hand to receive outdated/unused electronics, anything with a cord so your donated items can raise additional funds for the Bodega Bay fishermen/women who have been devastated by the closure of the crab fishing season.
As you may know many fishermen are behind on berth fees, boat payments, license & permit fees, and livelihood expenses, and are in need of assistance due to the closure of crab season. The Russian River Sisters were approached by Lori Cavanaugh of Spud Point Marina and Vira The California Mermaid about doing a fundraiser for the Bodega Bay fleet. The Sisters were so moved by the losses to the fisheries, coastal businesses and the impact on lives and our community, that we decided to produce this event to help those in need. Without assistance many will be forced into other occupations, deckhands will become dishwashers, boats will be repossessed, permits will be lost, and we all will feel the impact. The hit to crab and fishing season is affecting many of our local markets/businesses already, and will for years to come.
The Bodega Bay Fishermens Benefit will be a seafood dinner with a raffle, silent & exciting live auction, with Levi Lloyd and Friends providing musical entertainment starting at 6pm. Come prepared to dine, dance or just listen to the music, and be entertained by the nun too blue- Sister Wilma Titzgro of the Russian River Sisters and others, as the evening unfolds. Members of the Russian River Sisters will host VIP tables and pour Moshins 2010 Chardonnay, from the Foppoli Vineyard. Korbel Champagne Cellars has added a couple of cases of Korbel Natural to the mix. Seaside Metal Oyster Bar and Hog Island Oysters will provide portions of the dinner and other restaurants are still coming forward to help with the meal. This will be a green event with fish-friendly, mermaidapproved wine.
Doors open at 5:30pm, dinner will be served at 6pm.
