Composer David Montoya's MAGDALENE, a five-movement work for womens voices based on the William Wallis poem cycle, has its California premiere at acoustically renowned Mont LaSalle. the perfect setting for this moving depiction of Mary Magdalene's life journey.
The Sing Napa Valley men's section performs THE TESTAMENT OF FREEDOM by Randall Thompson. Based on the writings of Thomas Jefferson, the work was composed and first performed in 1943 to honor the bicentennial of Jefferson's birth. The concert also includes a stirring set of a cappella Renaissance pieces.
