ArtLooks: Performing Identities
ArtLooks: Performing Identities
ArtLooks: Performing Identities brings artists Rashaad Newsome and Ja'Tovia Gary along with a panel of teen artists to engage a participating audience in dialogue about the performance of art and identity. Following the style of the 1990s BET talk show, Teen Summit, this program is dedicated to addressing everyday teen issues.
Influenced by topics raised in Rashaad Newsome THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO SEE and Ebony G. Patterson: when they grow up, the evening will include a performance by a special guest artist.
Refreshments will be available. RSVP for priority seating.
ArtLooks is funded by an endowment established by the Jacob and Gwendolyn Lawrence Trust. Additional support is provided by the New York State Council on the Arts, a state agency.
