My Worst Job and other True (or False) Confessions
What was your worst job interview, or job, or date, or marriage? The most exquisitely embarrassing moment, the time you wished the earth would open and swallow you? Tell of that hellhole you crawled out of to laugh another day, and in the confessions (real or imagined) you write in this workshop!
Seattle native Carolyne Wright is the author of nine books and chapbooks of poetry, a collection of essays, and four volumes of translations from Spanish and Bengali. Her most recent book of poetry, Mania Klepto: The Book of Eulene, centers around Wrights wild, free-spirited, and unforgettable alter-ego, Eulene. Her work has appeared in The Best American Poetry 2009, in The Pushcart Prize XXXIV: Best of the Small Presses (2010 Edition), and in magazines, including the Iowa Review, North American Review, Southern Review, and Triquarterly. She earned her BA from Seattle University and an MA and a PhD in English/creative writing from Syracuse University. She moved back to Seattle in 2005 where she teaches for the Northwest Institute of Literary Arts Whidbey Writers Workshop MFA Program. Wright also serves as a contributing editor for the Pushcart Prizes and a senior editor at Lost Horse Press.
