SOLD OUT Politics & Prose and Buck's Fishing and Camping Present Roy Neel
Could the 2016 presidential campaign get any stranger than it already is? What other twists and turns could possibly happen in a political year that is already bordering on the surreal?
Author and veteran political strategist Roy M. Neel's new thriller, THE ELECTORS, may offer some (very eerie) answers. This tale of election-year intrigue includes a terrorist attack on the eve of the election, a leading candidate bent on hijacking the electoral college, and hackers, big money, ambition, and power conspiring to upend our democratic system.
Neel's wide-ranging career includes service in the U.S. Navy in Vietnam, where he gained experience as a photojournalist before moving into politics, first with the mayor of Nashville, then as a member of Senator Al Gore's staff before serving as President Clinton's Deputy Chief of staff and later as Vice President Gore's Chief of Staff. Join Neel and P&P co-owner Lissa Muscatine, former longtime chief speechwriter and senior advisor to Hillary Clinton, for a conversation about The Electors and the lessons that this timely and entertaining novel can tell us about presidential politics this year. Guests will enjoy a selection of hors d'oeuvres and raise a glass with the author this evening. A cash bar will be open and there will be a book signing at the end of the event. Bucks Fishing & Camping will be closed to the public for this occasion.
