The Northwest Horror Show - Cult, Exploitation, Horror Film Festival
Horror, Cult, Exploitation, and some times a little Art house, the Northwest Horror Show brings the best classics of extreme cinema back to Vancouver on glorious 35mm prints!
The festival will run from April 22nd to 24th at the Vancouver International Film Centre at 1181 Seymour St. in downtown Vancouver.
This years line up consists of Zombie by Lucio Fulci, Night Of The Creeps, Maniac, I Drink Your Blood, late night screenings of Street Trash and Cannibal Ferox, our SECRET closing night film and a special 40th anniversary screening of Salo, or The 120 Days of Sodom by Pier Paolo Passolini.
Each film will be preceded by short films by independent film makers as well as classic PSA's, bumpers and ads from the 70's and 80's. There will also be trivia giveaways between films and vendors will be on site selling some sweet merchandise between screenings!
This year our special guests include genre film star Lynn Lowry (The Crazies, Cat People, Shivers) who will do a Q&A after our screening of I Drink Your Blood and Director William Lustig (Maniac, Vigilante, Maniac Cop) will be joining us via Skype to talk a little bit about his film Maniac.
Other special guests may join us for the festival as well.
The venue is fully licensed so you can also purchase beer and bring it into the theatre if you wish to do so!
Due to the fact that the festival is run by a not for profit film society, an annual $2 membership must be purchased at the box office during the festival if you do not have one.
Memberships will be included with tickets to our Opening Night Reception of Zombie as well as 3 day passes.
Pass holders will be given priority entry to the festival but passes do not guarantee seating.
Sponsored by Breakfast Television on City TV, the Vancouver Badass Film Festival, Generativity Productions, Absolute Underground Magazine and David Aboussafy.
