David Pritchard began his career playing with the Gary Burton Quartet on their 1969 European tour. Returning to Los Angeles, he formed the jazz/rock group Contraband with pianist Pete Robinson and recorded the LP "Time and Space" for Epic Records. Moving in his own creative direction, he then recorded a series of solo jazz recordings featuring guests artists from Freddie Hubbard to Patrice Rushen.
Recent years have found Pritchard exploring acoustic music for multiple guitars. Billboard Magazine says, "There is a spaciousness and forward momentum to Pritchard's designs that make his simple but detailed compositions sound cinematic. This afternoon's concert will feature work from his albums Air Patterns, Unassigned Territory, Velocity, and Vertical Eden.
All proceeds go directly to the artists.
