A poetry slam is a competition between poets performing original work judged by members of the audience. The content and styles are as diverse as the people of our great city.
Come perform, watch or judge.
Poets wishing to compete should arrive at 8:30 to put their names in the hat. All poets who put their name in the hat pay half price. BRING A HAIKU THAT YOU WROTE. If more than 15 poets put their name in the hat we'll have a Haiku slam off at 8:45
PRIORITY IS GIVEN TO POETS WHO HAVE ALREADY SLAMMED.
3 Minute and 10 second time limit for reach round.

Winner receives a $50 gift card from Artists First, Inc. Top 6 poets earn points towards qualifying for Grand Slam Finals in May.

ED MABREY
is the only 3 time Individual World Poetry Slam Champion. He tours the country professionally as a poet, comedian, and motivational speaker. An Emmy winner, Ed has been on Seasons 3 & 5 of Verses and Flow (TV One), ABC, FOX, HBO All Def Digital, Write About Now Poetry and was a speaker at 2015 TEDx Dayton. Hes performed at over 100 colleges and universities around the country, teaching workshops and conducting seminars.
