Politics & Prose and Sixth & I Present DON DELILLO
One of the giants of contemporary American fiction, Don DeLillo has won the National Book Award (for his brilliant, darkly comic novel WHITE NOISE), the Pulitzer Prize and PEN/Faulkner Award (for MAO II), along with a host of other honors and accolades. His fifteenth novel, ZERO K, is a powerful look at family, wealth, and mortality, narrated by Jeff Lockhart, whose stepmother is facing an impending death at the outset of the story. Or, perhaps not: she may only be surrendering her body, until such time as technology can restore her to life. Thats the hope of Jeffs father, who has invested millions in a project to make death obsolete. Jeff, however, has other plans for the here and now.
DeLillo will be in conversation with Dana Spiotta, National Book Award finalist for EAT THE DOCUMENT, and author most recently of INNOCENTS AND OTHERS.
