Solo Sundays 4/10/16 - Eliza Gibson, Laura Hedli, Dara M Wilson, Sarah Elovich
.
Dara M Wilson -------------------------------- "Near-Drowning In Paradise"
We were huddled together in the field outside the estate. The dark was inky black, and a damp chill that hadn't been there before hung heavy around us. Steph gasped and dug her hands into my arm. I followed her gaze to the top window of the mansion. A pale figure, shrouded in white stood in the window, starting down at us. For so many reasons, she was not supposed to be there. I swallowed a scream. Trips with Steph had always been odd, but this was the first time I'd felt genuinely terrified.
Eliza Gibson -------------------------------- "Bravo 25"
Tension is escalating in the group yelling, veiled threats, no one is using I statements. Amber, the AI avatar therapist intervenes: I think its time to return to our breath. Is everyone ready? Jeremy thinks some breathing would be pretty great right about now. Tony doesn't want to breathe, ever. Victoria prefers we consider death anxiety. Cheryl wants to know whats so wrong with people helping people? Lil Bit tells the group: If you stop yelling, you'll be able to breathe. Marsha will do whatever Amber says because Amber never asks her to talk about her mother. Amber, the AI avatar therapist wont be returning to her breath. She's a robot, on a t.v. screen. And robots, well, they cant breathe.
Laura Hedli -------------------------------- "Overtime"
While others are waiting in lines outside of Trader Joes, hoping to get their hands on the last 16 oz. Dasani before Hurricane Sandy makes landfall in New York City, Laura is out drinking. Gin. With her coworker whos stashed his bike in her living room, so theres a pretty decent chance hell come up after and stay the night. Two mornings after, after, when the Metropolitan Transportation Authority suspends all subway service, Lauras boss pulls up to her apartment in a black Mercedes and says to pack a bag. Laura will be staying with her for the duration of the storm. Work mustnt halt in the face of imminent natural disaster.
Sarah Elovich -------------------------------- "Lets send a deep scaling to the centipedes of Annapolis. Because they're jerks."
Sarah is convinced that flossing will save her life. The medical experts agree: things got ugly after that centipede stung her in Annapolis. Now she has to fight for her life using a very specific kind of dental floss, but she cant find it anywhere. Its going to take a miracle to save her crazy mouth.
