An Evening of Haute Couture
The Story of the Designers who made Paris the Capitol of Fashion.
Diane Katz, the member of Fashion Group International, will take you on a "Couture Tour" of the Parisian Haute Couture, from Worth to today's iconic designers. Actual Couture garments from the Henry Art Gallery Costume Collection will be displayed as you learn about the exalted history of "High Fashion".
Diane Katz holds Master's degree of Science in Textile Design, School of Family Resources and Consumer Sciences and Bachelor's degree of Arts in Clothing Design for Apparel Manufacture, School of Home Economics. Diane Katz has had a successful career designing for the sport fashion industry, an worked as a designer for some of the influential world brands as Reebok International, Helly Hansen, Nike, Inc., and Eddie Bauer, Inc. to name a few. Diane teaches designers and entrepreneurs the realities of merchandising and designing products for today's demanding markets at Professional and Continuing Education Certificate Program through the University of Washington. She continues to satisfy her creativity by hand-dying silk textiles, crafting them into apparel and accessories.
