Comedy Hits The Spot!

Melissa Douty headlines at The Spot on Kirk March 26th! Douty literally wins at being funny. In 2014, she was named one of the Top 101 comedians in the World Series of Comedy in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2015, Douty went on to final rounds of nearly every competition she entered. Most recently, Douty won the Ultimate Comic Challenge in Greensboro, NC in February 2016. Making UCC history, she was the first female comic to make the finals, and take the title.

Funny-man Rob Ruthenberg takes the stage ahead of Douty as the night's featured comedian. Rob started his career as a stand up comic touring across the country working with such acts as Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Billy Gardell, and Weird Al. He's now an on-air personality for The Valley's Music Place, Roanoke's local radio station.
