JAZZ VESPERS

JAZZ VESPERS at St. Columba Catholic Church, 6401 San Pablo Avenue, Oakland, CA is presented by the United Methodist Men of Down Memorial United Methodist Church, Sunday,June 24th at 4PM. JAZZ VESPERS is a unique presentation of evening worship viewed through a celebration of African American music. BILL BELL & THE JAZZ CONNECTION QUINTET; Sly Randolph,drums, Charlie McCarthy, saxaphone, George Spencer, trumpet, Eric Vogler bass along with soloists and praise dancers will be featured. Delbert Walker, narrator will offer all phases of worship, prayer, invocation and the passing of the peace while portraying the development of African American music from Africa to present forms.The 4th Annual JAZZ VESPERS is a fundraising program for the UM Men who sponsor a number of programs at Downs Memorial United Methodist Church, 61st and Idaho St. and in the surrounding North Oakland community.
