3-Play: April 2016
3-Play (April 2016). Curated by Charles Campbell, this first 3-Play of the year features new work by Six Families, Eric Larson, and Reb L Limerick.
Six Families is a collection of musicians that aims to create opportunities for both performers and listeners to participate in honest, thoughtful, and compelling experiences relating to sound/silence/song. For 3-Play, Six Families will present a new work by Rice (Toby Ramaswamy and Mark Engelmann), called "Noah", and a solo trumpet piece by Noah Ophoven-Baldwin, called "Rubbish".
"Theatre Arts (Sacrifice)" by Eric Larson crams an evening-length piece into twenty minutes. There are no props and some of the performers are missing. The referenced piece, Theatre Arts, premieres at normal speed mid-April. This is the world premiere.
"SILVER BABY" by Reb L Limerick, Jasmine Peck, and Hillary Price in collaboration with Max Kollman, Alex Julian Leeds, and Newme. When baby is born, baby can swim. Birthed into a flow of the ever accelerating nature of technology, the new generation of digital natives are born silver. Unable to imagine a world without technology in the form of computers, social media and the internet, silver babies grow up in a cyber reality. Reality is a search bar, a screen into which we reflect our own identity. Reality is the time we spend away from the green, blue, and brown world around us. Reality comes in shades of silver. Reality is now. Now is the future in disguise.
