THE LADIES WITH A SONG: A Salute to the Female Entertainers of the '40's & '50's
Popular Seattle-based Entertainer Laurie Clothier salutes (but does not impersonate) 16 of America's most popular female entertainers from the 1940's and 1950's, including Rosemary Clooney, Doris Day, Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, Lena Horne, Betty Hutton, Eartha Kitt, Peggy Lee, Beatrice Lillie, Julie London, Mary Martin, Ethel Merman, Carmen Miranda, Marilyn Monroe, Ginger Rogers and Dinah Washington. Songs included in the concert include "THE MAN THAT GOT AWAY", "TENDERLY", "BEWITCHED", "CRY ME A RIVER", "I GET A KICK OUT OF YOU", "A COCK-EYED OPTIMIST", "MY HEART BELONGS TO DADDY", "DIAMONDS ARE A GIRL'S BEST FRIEND", "CHEEK TO CHEEK", "THE LADY WITH THE TUTTI FRUTTI HAT", "TEACH ME TONIGHT", "IT HAD TO BE YOU", "C'EST SI BON", "IT DON'T MEAN A THING IT IF AIN'T GOT THAT SWING", "FEVER" and "I LOVE PARIS" among others. Ms. Clothier will be backed by the 9-piece Purple Phoenix Orchestra under the direction of 2-time Emmy-nominated composer David Duvall.
