Jami Sieber in Concert with special guest Agu

She has seven independently released recordings on her own label - Out Front Music. Jami Sieber is well known for her recording, Hidden Sky, that is born of her profound meeting with the elephants in Thailand. This ground-breaking CD opens a rare window onto an inner landscape that sings with reverence, joy, and beauty.
"Suddenly in the midst of Agu's bowls and Jami's bow I remembered tenderness and time and breathing and friendship and voluptuous space between doings and caring and generosity and waking up from the nightmare. Thank you for the gentle and fierce infusion of this blessing. This remembering." Kim Rosen, author of Saved by a Poem
Agu is a teacher, ceremonialist, storyteller, and singing bowl artist. She began her work with singing bowls within the public school classroom where she taught for 30 years. Her intention was to help open the students' ears to something new through listening to the silence, to the ringing, to the vibrations that went out beyond the hitting of the bowl, helping to bring focus, silence, and reflection to their day. From the classroom her work as a singing bowl artist and storyteller expanded to conferences, performing arts festivals, schools, and private celebrations across the country. Agu's circles of improvisational sound and storytelling create a safe and sacred environment connecting participants to their own relaxed state and to one another.
Tonight celebrates the release of Agu's debut recording Reach In, dedicated to all our children. The CD brings together bells, bowls, chimes, and cello to reveal a rich, contemplative acoustic sound of uninterrupted beauty that musically guides the mind and body to relax, focus, create, and awaken the gifts within. Jami Sieber and Agu moved to Santa Fe from Seattle 5 years ago and are honored to present this special concert. Join them for this magical collaborative evening of music that resonates within and expands the heart.
