"BOJAIRA", Flamenco Jazz @ the cell
Jesus Hernandez's most recent album, Bojaira, has received world recognition. In this project Hernandez delves deep into his flamenco roots to create, in his own language, a musical expression as unique as it is natural. Inspired by classical music as well as Caribbean or Brazilian rhythms, he has performed his personal combination of flamenco and jazz with renowned artists such as Enrique Morente, Hafez Modir and Jorge Pardo. Tim Ferguson (Double Bass), Marc Holen (Drums) and Alfonso Cid (Cante/Flute) are all multitalented and experienced musicians and composers. Based in New York for many years, they are well accustomed to European and South American tours. Alfonso (like Jesus) hails from Andalusia where they were both raised on flamenco music. While keeping a solid base and remaining open to the world, the result is an impressive combination of energies. A rythmic breath that inspires the amazing flamenco performance of Auxi Fernández!
